Meg Riley began her undergraduate career at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with the goal of graduating with a teaching certificate.  She chose to major in English and minor in Secondary Education.  While at the University of Illinois, Riley was actively involved in SAGE (the Student Advancement Group for Education) and served on the executive board for the group her senior year.

Currently, Riley is in the midst of her hectic, yet exciting, first year of teaching at Glen Crest Middle School in Glen Ellyn, Illinois and teaches sixth grade reading and language arts.  In addition to teaching, Riley is involved in the reformed PBIS Team at Glen Crest, the Technology Integration Team for district 89, and is a coach for the seventh grade boys volleyball team.

Riley firmly believes every child should have the opportunity to receive a quality education; reading and writing are key to being successful not only in English but in all facets of education. Having an open line of communication and creating a classroom community of learners further helps build that essential relationship with students, colleagues, and parents.  Additionally, having worked at Apple, Inc. for almost two years, she is a huge proponent of incorporating technology into daily classroom instruction and using it to engage students of all types in hands-on learning.
