Krista Demma attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she earned a B.A. in International Studies and Spanish. During her Undergraduate career she studied abroad in both Granada and Bilbao, Spain where she honed her knowledge of the Spanish language and culture. In her final semester at U of I, Krista co-taught a class of adult English Language Learners and immediately fell in love with teaching.

To pursue this calling, she began working on a M.A.T. degree at National-Louis University. She concurrently substitute taught at K-8 schools, often in the Special Education department. Upon completing her degree, Krista began teaching at Simmons Middle School in Oak Lawn, Illinois. She is currently teaching seventh grade Spanish and Social Studies at Simmons.

In addition to teaching, Krista actively seeks out opportunities to grow in the field of education. To date, she has presented at the Illinois Association for Gifted Children conference and co-written articles for the IAGC about methods for using technology in the classroom. She is also an active member of ACTFL and is pursuing an ELL endorsement.
